Opening a business that will not profit! Any advice is welcome.

Opening a business that will not profit. Hey reddit. So the plan is for me and my partner to open up a tattoo studio in 2019. This is not some new idea, we have been planning for many years and have done a lot of research and know what we are getting into. How tattoo studios normally operate is on commision. You give the studio 40% of your earnings, in exchange for basic supplies and your spot. On average my partner does $2500 tattooing a week, spread across 4 days 12 - 5. He gives  $1000 of that away to the studio and is left with $1500. We want to open the studio to allow him to profit more, and ovbiously, it has been a big dream for us. I have many many years of experience managing shops and studios. The plan for income is instead of charging commission to artists, we will charge rent. They will pay this once a week and in exchange get their space, basic supplies and me. So 4/6 artists, depending on the size of the space we get. Charging 350-450 per week rent. This will be enough for myself to take a wage and keep the studio running, however it won't really profit much. My wage will be around $500 per week. My partner will also pay rent to the studio. So our weekly income will be around  $2500 (his and my wage). I am looking for any advice on the situation. How much money should we put aside for a business this size? We have $50k to get it opened and set up (there is a lot to get to meet infection  control regulations), we could get another $50k as a loan? Is it worth starting off with that much? There is a lot of licensing involved, so the annual fees are a lot. via /r/business https://ift.tt/2mQjA3J
