Company changes vesting options

I work for a large public company (tech) and they recently changed their vesting schedule. It used to be 3 years and now it’s 100% right away. The company is notoriously frugal, so it surprises me that they would essentially “spend” so much money. My assumption is they are trying to be more competitive to attract talent. However, would this have any impact on trying to position them as a more attractive acquisition for another company? via /r/business https://ift.tt/2BDOTXv
