Google unveils stealth app to help Bangladeshis find jobs


A team from Google’s Area 120 startup incubator was secretly working on a new app aimed to matched jobs to its Bangladeshi users. The app called "Kormo" which means work in English went live last year in Dhaka. With the focus to serve informal economy which is currently 80-90% of the total labor force in South Asia and 87% in the country, this app has matched approximately 21,000 jobs to its users.
